Mitch Backes

Mitch grew up on a farm near Malta Bend, Missouri (population 240) and graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in business. He and his wife, Shannon, have three kids: McKenna, Grady, and Griffin. Mitch works as a Commercial Property and Casualty Advisor for Corkill Insurance Agency in Elk Grove Village. The Backes' are active members of the Compass Church. Mitch values Covenant for the exceptional classical education delivered from a Christian worldview. Contact Mitch Backes

Matt Cowan

Matthew Cowan

Matt Cowan is president of MJCZone Inc., a software-development agency based in Naperville, Ill. He specializes in resourcing, training and leading software-development teams in integrating and building web, desktop, and mobile applications. Matt has been designing, coding and building software in various capacities for the last 20 years. He attended the University of Virginia where he double-majored in physics and anthropology, and earned his master of business administration degree from Pepperdine University in California. Matt lives in Naperville with his wife Kristina, and their two children, and attends Naperville Presbyterian Church. Contact Matt Cowan

Caroline Jones

Caroline Jones was raised in Lebanon, New Jersey and went to the University of Michigan to study English and Violin Performance. She went on to receive a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Rice University in Houston. She and her husband, Josh, have been Wheaton residents for 6 years and they have three children: Alex, Tyler, and Lydia. Caroline devotes most of her time being home with her children but she is also a freelance violinist with Grant Park Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic and Camerata Chicago. The Jones’ are members at Bethel Presbyterian Church and active in the children’s ministry and music ministry. Caroline is grateful for Covenant and said: “Our children are thriving in a joy-filled atmosphere where they are taught to think critically, to dive deeply into a time-tested classical curriculum, and above all, to pursue wisdom and a love for Christ.” Contact Caroline Jones

James Thomas

James Thomas

Mr. Thomas is the Campus Director for SAE Institute of Technology. He launched this campus for SAE Institute USA, in August 2012. Mr. Thomas is responsible for driving strategic financial and marketing objectives with oversight for business planning, finance, regulatory compliance, and budgeting. Mr. Thomas oversees all areas of the institution including Admissions, Academics, Career Services, Financial Services, Student Services, and Facility Management. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a Master in Business Administration from Benedictine University. Mr. Thomas, his wife, and three children attend Calvary Church and live in Naperville, IL. Contact James Thomas

Daniel Treier

Dr. Daniel Treier is Knoedler Professor of Theology at Wheaton College Graduate School, where he has taught for sixteen years. He holds Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is the author of four books and the editor of several others. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., he spent three years working in theological curriculum development.
